Job Summary :
We are looking for an experienced Manager / Senior Manager Purchase & Sourcing to lead strategic procurement and sourcing activities for our transformer manufacturing business. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in transformer raw material procurement, import sourcing, supplier development, cost optimization, contract management, and material planning. This role will be responsible for ensuring uninterrupted material availability, developing strategic supplier partnerships, driving cost savings, and supporting manufacturing operations through efficient procurement practices.
Job Description :
- Lead end-to-end procurement and strategic sourcing activities for transformer manufacturing.
- Procure critical transformer raw materials including CRGO Mother Coils, CRGO Laminations, Copper, Aluminium, Electrical Press Boards, Insulation Wood, Electrical Components, and Fabricated Items.
- Manage both domestic and international sourcing, including import procurement and customs documentation.
- Forecast material requirements and ensure timely procurement based on production plans and lead times.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships while identifying and onboarding new vendors.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, annual contracts, and long-term supplier agreements.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, value engineering, and alternate supplier development.
- Handle supplier quality issues and ensure corrective actions to avoid production disruptions.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Planning teams for smooth execution of procurement activities.
- Ensure uninterrupted production by maintaining optimal inventory and material availability.
- Manage procurement budgets, spend analysis, and procurement KPIs.
- Lead and mentor the purchase team to achieve departmental objectives.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ISO standards, and company procedures.
Key Requirements :
- 13+ years of experience in Purchase/Sourcing.
- Must have experience in the Transformer Manufacturing Industry.
- Strong knowledge of CRGO procurement, transformer raw materials, and import sourcing.
- Experience in supplier development, contract negotiation, and procurement planning.
- Hands-on experience in ERP systems.
- Good understanding of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 17025.
- Willingness to travel as per business requirements.
