Job Summary
The Manager will oversee the strategic and operational procurement of capital equipment, spares, consumables, electrical systems, and civil works for leading manufacturing plants utilizing injection moulding and extrusion processes. This role entails responsibility for new factory development capex over three years, with focus on cost optimization, supplier development, and delivery of measurable savings and efficiencies.
Job Description
- Lead procurement for capex, spares, consumables, and services for repairs (incl. civil) with systematic inventory control. This also covers procurement of relevant Annual Maintenance contracts where applicable.
- Develop and implement cost reduction and value engineering initiatives across all categories (machinery, materials, services).
- End-to-end management of procurement lifecycle from (a) vendor pool development to annual reviews, (b) RFQ to order placement, delivery, invoicing, and payment
- Achieve budgeted cost savings annually by negotiation, supplier rationalization, alternate sourcing, long-term contracts, and technology adoption.
- Collaborate with finance, project, maintenance, and production teams for specification finalization, approvals, and technical-commercial negotiations.
- Drive and ensure transparency, compliance, and documentation in vendor selection, rate contracts, and purchase orders.
- Track ongoing capex and maintenance spends, ensuring spends are within budgets, track monthly purchase data, and report savings to management as part of continuous improvement.
Profile Description
- B.E./ B.Tech (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial Engineering preferred).
- 10–15 years’ procurement experience in manufacturing (plastics, process, consumer durables) with major electrical and civil works exposure.
- Track record of delivering significant procurement cost savings on large-scale budgets
- Hands-on knowledge of ERP systems (SAP/MM) and digital procurement tools.
