Job Summary
The Navis Managed Services Engineer is responsible for providing consulting, troubleshooting and configuration assistance to Navis customers around Application (EDI & other TOS products), Infrastructure (Database, On-Prem and Cloud Infra environment) and Monitoring & Diagnostics. A qualified candidate will have experience working in a Managed Services department of an enterprise software or service-based company performing majority of the below mentioned responsibilities.
Job Description
- Monitoring of Navis software EDI, troubleshooting and resolve customer reported issues
- Configuration and deployment of new EDI messages for customers
- Research and resolution of Navis TOS EDI errors in real time on behalf of customers
- Monitoring and diagnostics of Navis software and systems
- Review and administration of customer software setup and configuration
- Response to and Resolution of customer issues per a Service Level Agreement
- Design, administer, manage, maintain and troubleshoot Navis customer’s IT Infrastructure, including servers, storage, DR, network hardware and software, WAN/communication links and cloud hosting.
- Design, administer, manage and maintenance of cloud environments for hosting of Navis software on behalf of customers.
- Management, administration and maintenance Databases (SQL) via Managed Services for Navis customers including troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Performance tuning and administration of live production databases, consulting and recommendations around database sizing and configuration
- Ready to support Navis customers across different geographies
- Flexible and ready to work in a 24 x 7 x 265 environment (including on call support / rotational shifts)
Profile Description
- 3-5 years experience as a Services or Support consultant for an enterprise software company or in related field.
- 3-5 years experience as a DBA for an enterprise software company or in related field.
- 3-5 years experience managing EDI for an Enterprise Software Company or related field with deep familiarity with maritime EDI message management (i.e. BAPLIE, COPARN, COPRAR, 315, etc.)
- 3-5 years experience in centralization, consolidation and virtualization of servers, storage and overall IT architecture and deep technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards
- 3-5 years of experience of Cloud Computing environments (MS Azure, AWS, GCP)
- 2-3 years experience in administration, maintenance of Application Performance Management, Infrastructure monitoring and alerting tools (preferably Elastic Search)
Should Have (Complementary skills related to above core skills):
- Good understanding of Infrastructure network capacity planning, network security principles, and network best practices
- Ability to conduct research into Infrastructure networking issues and products as required
- Good understanding of Infrastructure and/or Terminal Operating Systems and their configuration
- Experience with administration of Oracle and/or MSSQL database administration
- Good understanding of database technologies including performance tuning, scaling, redundancy and backup
- Good Knowledge / understanding of Load balancers, Clustering, Tomcat, Oracle, SQL, and MySQL DB’s, Red Hat Linux, RAID, Microsoft Server, ActiveMQ, MS SQL Server, JMS, Firewalls Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Strong customer service orientation
- Highly fluent in English language effective verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in the maritime or logistics industry is a significant plus
- Experience in Navis TOS a big plus
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
