Job Summary
The Delivery Manager is responsible for end-to-end delivery of complex software development projects for key retail clients. This role requires a strong IT development background and proven expertise in managing fixed-price and milestone-based engagements. The incumbent will lead cross-functional teams, manage client relationships, ensure contractual compliance, and drive delivery excellence while supporting account growth and revenue scaling.
Job Description
Delivery & Project Management
- Own and drive end-to-end delivery of software development projects for major retail accounts.
- Manage cross-functional development teams to ensure high-quality, on-time, and within-budget delivery.
- Lead project planning, execution, risk management, stakeholder communication, and reporting.
- Ensure adherence to SDLC methodologies including Agile, DevOps, and Waterfall.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring transparent and proactive communication.
- Take complete ownership of client escalations and drive timely resolution.
- Build, nurture, and sustain strong client relationships at operational and leadership levels.
- Ensure compliance with contractual commitments, SLAs, and governance requirements.
Delivery Excellence & Business Growth
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in delivery excellence, automation, and process optimization.
- Collaborate with sales, pre-sales, and technology teams to support account mining and revenue growth.
- Scale delivery operations to meet increasing project volumes and client expectations.
- Participate in budgeting, resource planning, profitability management, and client health monitoring.
People & Team Leadership
- Mentor and coach delivery teams, fostering a culture of accountability, responsiveness, and innovation.
- Promote best practices in delivery management and team performance.
Profile Description
- 12–16 years of overall IT experience, with at least 4–5 years in a Delivery Manager role
- Career progression from Developer or Tech Lead, with strong hands-on technical background in any technology stack
- Proven experience delivering fixed-price and milestone-based projects with end-to-end accountability
- Strong expertise in handling client escalations and managing complex client situations
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain strong client relationships across multiple levels
- Experience in the Retail domain, supporting digital transformation or enterprise IT initiatives
- Solid understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile, DevOps, Waterfall)
- Experience working in large or mid-sized IT Services, Solutions, or Consulting organizations
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight timelines
- Strong ownership mindset with proactive problem-solving approach
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
- Proven experience in scaling delivery operations and growing account revenue
- Education: BE / BTech / MTech
