Job Summary
The Financial and Management Reporting Manager will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, month-end close activities, and compliance with accounting standards. The role involves managing fixed asset accounting, reconciliations, trial balance, P&L and balance sheet reviews, and ensuring strong financial controls.
This position requires close coordination with multiple stakeholders and internal teams to ensure smooth financial operations, adherence to timelines, and high-quality reporting. The individual will also play a key role in strengthening processes, improving efficiency, and supporting business decision-making through financial insights.
Job Description
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
- Manage end-to-end month-end close activities including journal entries, trial balance, P&L and balance sheet review.
- Ensure accurate accounting of fixed assets including additions, deletions, and reconciliation with the general ledger.
- Review and validate journal entries to ensure correctness and compliance with accounting policies.
- Ensure timely closure of books in line with internal and corporate deadlines.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Support preparation of annual budgets and operating plans.
- Analyze manufacturing costs and identify trends, deviations, and improvement areas.
- Perform variance analysis (Actual vs Budget / Forecast) and provide meaningful insights to stakeholders.
- Monitor cost center and profit center performance and highlight key drivers impacting results.
Controls, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to corporate accounting policies and standards.
- Review non-routine transactions and ensure appropriate accounting treatment.
- Ensure intercompany transactions are properly recorded, reconciled, and eliminated during consolidation.
- Maintain strong internal controls and documentation for audits and reviews.
Process Excellence & Stakeholder Management
- Establish and document standardized month-end and reporting processes.
- Ensure roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and communicated across teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean / Six Sigma / YB) to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Work closely with multiple stakeholders and lead teams to meet business and reporting requirements.
Profile Description
Qualifications & Experience
- CMA, CA with 6 +years of experience in Financial Accounting / FP&A / Reporting.
- Experience in Manufacturing / FMCG / Automobile / Captive / Shared Services environments preferred.
- Strong exposure to financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close activities.
Technical & Functional Skills
- Strong knowledge of SAP (mandatory); exposure to Oracle / SAP BPC / BI is an added advantage.
- Excellent command over MS Excel, PowerPoint, and financial analysis tools.
- Experience in process standardization, documentation, and validation controls.
- Hands-on experience with reconciliations, GL review, cost centers, and financial statements.
