Job Summary:
This position is responsible to lead and manage the procurement, shipping & logistics operations, & service delivery carried out. In this role, he/she will also be responsible for driving continuous improvement and transformation, building capabilities and support implementation of organization’s objectives and strategies. The role would involve interactions with the External Vendors & Internal Stakeholders of client.
- Lead a team of 5-6 members: Mentor & coach the team for top performance; Manage Stakeholders
- Manage Shipping & Logistics Operations: Letters of credit (At sight, Usance), BFC, CAD, TT- Payment Process; Imports/Exports Documentation (Sea & Air Freight); Shipment Tracking, Transportation etc.
- Oversee Procurement Operations – Tactical Procurement, Vendor Management, Order Processing, Contract Management; Inventory Management, MRP, Procure to Pay, Reporting, MIS etc
Job Description:
Supervise Shipping & Logistics Processes:
- Process Purchase Orders, Sales Contract, Sales Orders, Sales Billing in SAP. Run End to End Procurement Process in MM Module in SAP
- Letter of Credit scrutinizing, negotiation & coordination with Banks. Process LC’s as per Payment conditions (At sight, Deferred / Usance). Shipment Processing (Import & Export documentation- Sea /Air ). Import Shipment monitoring, tracking and reporting to Origins/ Business Units
- Run periodic reports (Shipment or Order progress status/Sales/Purchase/ etc ) and update to Origin. Coordinate with Origin for query/resolution pertaining to shipments/documents/delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with vendor for Product & Shipment readiness; SRM. Manage & optimize Inventory at Origins– Inventory Models (ROP), JIT & VMI, MRP, Scheduling, Call Off’s etc
- Effective communication of issues across stakeholders. Provide inputs to Managers for periodic updates to internal and external stakeholders. Ensure adherence to SLAs; Drive continuous improvements within the processes transitioned to increase efficiency continuously
Oversee Vendor Management Activities:
- Performs Benchmarking, Identification, Approvals, Onboarding, Auditing, Ongoing Operations – end to end Vendor Life Cycle Management (VLC) & Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
- Supplier Evaluation, Rating & Monitoring: Lead measuring supplier performance, root cause analysis and driving improved performance. Own all aspects of supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery).
Steer day to day Operations:
- Service Level Agreement (SLA) performance: Continuously measure, manage and improve supplier actual performance against negotiated SLA. Continuous tracking, KPI reporting, via dashboards.
- On-time delivery: Measure, report and action to improve service and delivery performance.
- Ongoing cost productivity: Measure, report and action cost productivity as a function of market pricing.
Support Process Transition:
- Knowledge Transfer- Train, induct and work closely with the incumbents at various levels to deliver the targets. Be able to transition processes integrate seamlessly.
Profile Description:
Work Experience:
- 10-15 years of relevant experience in Procurement & Logistics Operations, Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management, in Food & Agribusiness, FMCG and similar related Industries preferably
- A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience at Managerial level; managing mid-sized Teams
- Good exposure to Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Operations, Vendor Management
- Heightened Exposure to Import Export – Shipping & Logistics, Shipment Execution, Shipment Documentation Handling, Vendor Coordination. Experience in dealing with International Suppliers and Shipping line/Freight forwarders; & managing highly complex supply chains
- Deep knowledge of SAP (MM Module)

- Proficiency with MS Office; especially MS XL and complex data analysis

Education:
- Graduation/Post Graduation in Any Discipline. Desirable to have specialization is Supply Chain Management/ General Business Studies/ Engineering/Food & Agribusiness & relevant Areas.
- Candidates from Tier-I/ Premier Undergraduate (Engineering)/PG-Management Institutes desirable.
